Keith Richardson

Keith is a Sligo based artist who has enjoyed great success in the past few years emerging as an artist receiving
both critical and commercial acclaim. His unique and vibrant abstract
interpretation of the landscape has
seen his works been added to many private collections both here in
Ireland, London, Germany and the U.S.A.
Keith is also branching out into the US Art
Market this year as his work has been excepted
by a prominent New York City gallery

Keith says: "My work is inspired by the natural world. Its beauty and
its cruelty and its ever-changing contrasts.
Rather than re-creating a landscape on a canvas, I aim to express its
essence and spirit. In my imagination, I interpret the
sea as a living being sometimes a friend and sometimes an adversary
who has all the same characteristics as you or I.
Therefore the sea is pron to different emotions, which I then try to
harness and capture, sometimes it can end up as a brawl with
the canvas acting as our ring other times like a meaningful
conversation with a close friend full of honesty, atmosphere and
wonder.

Painting Landscapes allows me to communicate movement, mood and energy
through colour combinations. I prefer a more ambiguous
picture plane, a surface on which the viewer can project their own
experience, enabling them to come to a personal
conclusion about what my work represents to them and make it there own."

"One of Ireland's most bankable emerging Irish artists" The Irish Times
