Áine Ní Chíobháin

Áine Ní Chíobháin creates paintings that explore shallow water, reflection, and the patterns of the tide.  These are developed through close observation of the coastal landscape.

Working on wood panel, her process combines drawing, layering, and surface marks to hold both detail and atmosphere within each piece.

“I make art to try to get closer to the natural world around me. I believe in the healing power of nature and the arts. I love playing with mixed media and paint. I find it relaxing and therapeutic. I am always looking ahead to the next creative project. Art is my love and my obsession”.

Áine Ní Chíobháin is an artist with family roots in Corca Dhuibhne. She is living and  creating art on the Dingle Peninsula since 2007. She has an Honours Degree from Crawford College of Art and Design, Cork City. Her artwork is found in many public and private collections nationally and internationally. She is a recipient of numerous awards including bursary awards, project awards, and residency awards.

Recent successful solo exhibitions include Gormley’s Fine Art, Dublin , Áras Éanna, Inis Oírr and Cill Rialaig Art Centre,  as gallery hosts.  The artist has been selected for Impressions Biennale, 2013 and the RHA 182nd Annual Exhibition, RHA Gallery, Dublin
